Five Killed, Two Injured in Fochville Crash

Five people have been killed and two others injured following a collision between two motor vehicles on the N12 in Fochville.

Paramedics said on arrival at the scene on Tuesday, they found one car parked in the road while another had come to a stop in the veld approximately 100 metres away.

ER24’s Russel Meiring said medics found that four men, two trapped in each vehicle, had sustained fatal injuries.

“Unfortunately, nothing could be done for them, and they were declared dead. A woman in her 20s was found in a critical condition while two other men, believed to be the drivers of the vehicles, had sustained moderate injuries. Unfortunately, after some time, the critically injured woman succumbed to her injures in hospital.”

Meiring said the injured patients were transported to nearby hospitals for further care and local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
