[LISTEN] “Rajab, a Very Significant Month in Islamic Calendar” – Ml Ebrahim Bham
Esteemed and respected Islamic scholar Ml Ebrahim Bham said Rajab is a very significant month in the Islamic calendar.
Ml Bham was speaking during the announcement by the United Ulama Council of South Africa (UUCSA) that the moon for the Islamic month of Rajab had not been sighted on Tuesday.
Therefore the 1st of Rajab 1443 will correspond to Thursday the 3rd of February.
Ml Bham said Allah mentions in the holy Qur’an that out of the twelve months in the year, four are sacred and one of the months is Rajab.
“Ulama have given the meaning of something sacred by Allah meaning we should increase good deeds in there, stay away from evil deeds and good deeds, the reward of it is increased and the severity of sins is also increased.”
Ml Bham said the month of Rajab is also the beginning of the anticipation for the mubarak and blessed month of Ramadan and according to the dominant view the month in which the miraculous Meraj or journey of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to the seven heavens took place.
