Motorists Warned to take Precautions Against Bogus Cops
Motorists have been advised to take precautions after a family was robbed by alleged bogus police officers between Klip River and Xavier Road, south of Johannesburg.
It is understood the criminals waved a police badge and flagged the vehicle to pull off on the side of the road on Sunday.
The suspects then robbed the family of their valuables including mobile phones before fleeing the scene.
Motorists have also been warned to take extra precaution when travelling to and from Lenasia and the Golden Highway.
According to reports, criminals are using a similar modus operandi flagging down motorists with what is believed to be a police badge before robbing them.
