One Killed, Twelve Others Injured in Four Separate Accidents in Gauteng

One person has been killed and at least 12 others injured in four separate accidents in Gauteng.

In the first collision, a car veered off the N12 highway near the Trichardt bridge in Boksburg on Saturday morning.

ER24’s Russel Meiring said paramedics found one person with fatal injuries and another person with moderate injuries.

“The patient was assessed and later transported to hospital.”

Meiring said paramedics also attended to a head-on collision between two taxis along Luton Road in Benoni.

“Upon arrival, they found one person with serious injuries and two people with moderate injuries. The three patients were treated on the scene and later transported to hospital. Two other patients were treated on the scene, but later refused transport to hospital.”

ER24 also attended to another collision between a heavy motor vehicle and a car at the R82 and R57 crossing which left three people injured.

Meiring said a second collision on the R42 also left three people injured.

“Fortunately, no one sustained any serious injuries in this collision.”

Local authorities attended the scenes.
