SA Records 1,332 COVID-19 Infections, 88 Deaths
South Africa’s COVID-19 infections continue to decline with another 1,332 cases reported.
This brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to more than 3,581,300.
The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) has reported 14 COVID deaths in the last 24 hours but warned that due to an ongoing audit by the Health Department there may be a backlog in cases reported.
As such, the NICD reported 88 fatalities over the last day which pushed the death toll to 94,265.
The NICD said there was a 7.8 % positivity rate.
The recovery rate stands at 95.3%, meaning over 3,413,926 people had recovered from the virus.
On the vaccination front more than 29.4 million doses have been administered.
The NICD said there has also been an increase of 89 hospital admissions in the past 24 hours.
