Traffic to be Diverted in Joburg CBD Due to Two Protest Marches

The Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) said traffic will be diverted in the CBD on Thursday due to protest marches.

The protests are expected to take place from Mary Fitzgerald Square and Beyers Naude Square.

The JMPD’s Wayne Minnaar said officers will assist and direct traffic to the alternate routes.

The protests should start at approximately 11am and finish at about 1:30pm. Anyone found thrashing the city or intimidating other citizens with be dealt with harshly by officers on duty.”
