KZN Man Arrested for Dealing & Being in Possession of Ammunition & Drugs

A 30-year-old man has appeared in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court for dealing and being in possession of  ammunition and drugs.

Bhayla Mohamed was handcuffed on Wednesday during an intelligence driven operation when Police received information that a man was selling ammunition. 

The police’s Thembeka Mbele said Police say found several rounds of different ammunition in Mohamed’s possession 

“A total of 1,150 rounds of ammunition, 200 cartridges, mandrax and two cellphones were recovered at the suspect’s residence. When he was questioned about the recovered items, he failed to provide adequate response and was arrested on the scene.” 

Mohamed was remanded in custody until 13 January 2021 for further investigation.
