Proteas Beat India by 7 Wickets in Second Test to Level the Series

The Proteas have come back from their defeat by India in the first test at Centurion to beat the visitors by by 7 wickets in the 2nd Test at the Wanderers in Johannesburg.

South Africa captain Dean Elgar hit a match-winning 96 not out to guide the Proteas to an emphatic win on Thursday which levels the three-match series at 1-1.

Earlier rain ruled out any play before tea on the fourth day before South Africa resumed on 118 for two, chasing 240 for victory. 

Elgar spent more than five hours at the crease, facing 188 balls and hitting 10 fours.

He shared partnerships of 82 for the third wicket with Rassie van der Dussen, who made 40 and then the unbeaten partnership of 68 for the fourth wicket with vice captain Temba Bavuma, who finished on 23 not out.
