ANC Women’s League Lilian Ngoyi Lecture Cancelled due Non-Compliance of COVID-19 Protocols

The African National Congress (ANC) Womens league Lilian Ngoyi Lecture was cancelled due to a lack of compliance to COVID-19 regulations.

The ruling party is marking its 110th birthday in Polokwane this week.

President Cyril Ramaphosa was supposed present the lecture on Thursday.

Program director Sisi Ntombela announced the cancellation of the lecture in Lebowakgomo due to non-compliance to #COVID protocols.

The ANC Women’s League Meokgo Matuba sapling to eNCA apologised for the abrupt cancellation of the Lilian Ngoyi Memorial Lecture for not complying with COVID-19 protocols.

“We must not push the narrative that says president walk away out of this activity. It is upon the advice that he got from the security and the leadership of the Women’s League that we need to end things. On a positive note, we’ll just have to continue even if its after January 8 because women wants to work for the African National Congress, women are ready to take the ANC forward.”

Ramaphosa has since left the venue.
