11-Year-Old Girl Kidnapped Outside E.P. Baumann Primary School in Mayfair Found Safe
An 11-year-old girl who was kidnapped outside the E.P. Baumann Primary School in Mayfair in Johannesburg last year has been found safe and reunited with her family.
The Gauteng Education Department said the learner’s mother received a call from the police on Tuesday informing her to come fetch her child at the police station.
The Grade 5 learner was waiting in line to be sanitized and screened when she was kidnapped by three suspects with AK47’s in a Silver/White Toyota Yaris.
Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi said he is delighted that the girl was found safe.
“We will avail our Psycho-Social Unit to provide additional counselling to her given the trauma she has faced during this unfortunate incident.”
Last year, the four Moti brothers were also abducted while en route to their school in Limpopo.
The siblings were reunited with their parents after three weeks.
