Three Killed & At Least 70 Injured After Bus Rolls in Polokwane

Three people have been killed and at least seventy others injured when the bus they were travelling in rolled on the N1 north in Matoks, about 40km outside Polokwane in Limpopo.

Paramedics say on arrival at the scene on Monday morning, they found the bus upright on the side of the road with a number of passengers around on scene.

ER24’s Russel Meiring said medics set up a triage area and began to tend to the patients.

“On assessment, medics found that two women and a man had sustained fatal injuries in the rollover. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for them, and they were declared dead. At least seventy other patients were assessed and found to have sustained minor to serious. The patients were treated and transported to nearby hospitals by various services.”

Meiring said the details surrounding this incident are unknown, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
