Man Arrested for Dealing in Drugs Worth R2 Million

A 47-year-old man has been arrested after he was caught distributing drugs worth R2 million in the Vaal Triangle. 

The Hawk and other law enforcement officials received information about the drugs and spotted the vehicle driving towards Vereeniging on Tuesday. 

The Hawks Philani Nkwalase said after stopping and searching the vehicle, officers found a bag containing five packets of suspected crystal meth weighing 1.5kg each.

“The total of 7.5kg suspected crystal meth valued at approximately R 2 million was seized for further investigation together with the vehicle that was allegedly used in the commission of crime.” 

Nkwalase said the suspect is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court on Thursday for dealing in drugs.
