AmaZulu Royal Family Receives Top of the Range New Cars from KZN Government

KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala has handed over five top of the range new cars to the late AmaZulu King Goodwill Zwelithini Queens and Queen Mother Mavis Zungu.

The handover was done in Ulundi on Friday where Zikalala also announced that renovations at the palaces were expected to start soon.

Earlier this year, the AmaZulu royal family was allocated R66 million by the KwaZulu-Natal government for 2021.

Zikalala said  the purchase of the cars was in line with the prescript from national government for political office bearers. 

“For political office bearers you don’t by a car that cost more than R 800,000. Therefore, the cars that are here, they are below R 800,000.” 

Zikalala said government’s continued support for the Zulu queens and their palaces was a commitment made to the late king.
