Two Killed & Two Other Injured in Golden Highway Crash

Two people have been killed and two others injured after two cars collided on the Golden Highway in Devland, south of Johannesburg.

Paramedics say when they arrived on scene on Sunday, they found two heavily wrecked vehicles standing across the highway.

ER24’s Ineke Van Huyssteen said a patient was found lying outside of the one vehicle.

“It is understood that he was ejected. Unfortunately, the man was showing no signs of life. Another man was found lying entrapped underneath the bakkie. He was also showing no signs of life. Both men were declared dead at the scene by paramedics.”

Van Huyssteen said the two other patients sustained moderate injuries and were treated at the scene before being transported to hospital for further care.

Van Huyssteen added that the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
