28-Year-Old Man to Appear in Court After Raping & Killing a Six-Year-Old Child

A 28-year-old suspect arrested for allegedly raping a six-year-old child and then killing her at Dark City, Praktiseer outside Burgersfort is expected to appear in court on Monday.

It is is understood the girl was playing with other children in the neighbourhood on Friday when her mother noticed that she had gone missing and started a search for her.

The child’s body was later discovered dumped in a neighbour’s yard. 

The police’s Motlafela Mojapelo says the suspect was handcuffed a shortwhile later.

“He was found hiding in one of the neighbour’s yard and immediately arrested. Police Preliminary investigations conducted at scene suggest that the victim was raped before she was killed.”

Mojapelo says police investigations continue.
