The search for human body parts have led police to the Klip River on Abu Bakr Asvat Drive in Lenasia.

This comes after a 26-year-old man, Flavio Hlabangwane, appeared at the Protea magistrate’s court after body parts were found in a fridge in his rented room in Soweto.

Hlabangwane allegedly tried to stab himself to death after his girlfriend made the gruesome discovery

Hlabangwane pointed police to the Klip River in Lenasia where it is believed he disposed of the torso.

The police’s Brenda Moridile said nothing had been found in Lenasia, but Hlabangwane was helping authorities with information.

Hlabangwane was remanded in custody until 22 November 2021.
