President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to address the nation at 8pm on Thursday.

The presidency says the “family meeting” is to update South Africans on developments in the country’s response to the #COVID19 pandemic.

This follows meetings of the National Coronavirus Command Council, the President’s Coordinating Council and Cabinet

Ramaphosa last addressed the nation earlier this month where he moved the country to an adjusted level 2 of the COVID-19 lockdown.

It is a possibility that the president will move the country to an adjusted level one lockdown following a decline in the Coronavirus infections and the accelerated vaccine rollout.
