Apple iOS 11.4 Brings AirPlay 2, Cloud-Based Messages

Apple has released the latest version of its mobiles software, iOS 11.4.

Along with cloud-based messages, this release also marks the official launch of AirPlay 2 which is the latest version of Apple’s audio streaming system.

AirPlay already allows music, podcasts and other audio to stream to the Apple HomePod smart speaker, Apple TV and additional AirPlay-compatible devices.

The new update introduces and uses AirPlay 2 to play music in any room from any room, move music from one room to another or play the same song everywhere using an iOS device.

The Cloud-based messages in the latest software update allows you to store your messages, photos and other attachments in iCloud and free up space on your devices.

All your messages will reappear when you sign in to a new device with the same iMessage account, while they are instantly removed from all your devices if the messages are deleted.

The update also contained other improvements and bug fixes.

Meanwhile Apple also stated it will sell the HomePod smart speaker in Canada, France, and Germany from 18 June 2018.

The HomePod is currently available in the US, UK, and Australia,sells for $349 (R 4,500) and is available in white and space grey.
