70-Year-Old Woman Killed After Being Struck by Car

A 70-year-old woman has been killed after she was struck by a light motor vehicle on the N17 in Springs.

Paramedics says they arrived on the scene on Thursday and found the body of the elderly woman lying a few metres behid the car.

ER 24’s Russel Meiring says authorities were on scene for further investigations.

“Medics assessed the woman and found that she had already succumbed to her numerous injuries. Nothing could be done for her and she was declared dead. The driver of the vehicle escaped serious injury and was later transported to a nearby hospital for further attention.”
