31 Children, 2 Adults Injured in Potchefstroom Taxi Crash
At least thirty-one children and two adults have been injured after a taxi crashed into another at Potchefstroom’s N12 and Klinkenberg intersection.
Paramedics say on arrival at the scene, they found the two taxis parked on the road with the children outside the two vehicles.
ER24’s Russel Meiring says there were no serious or fatal injuries among the children.
“Numerous children that had been travelling in the taxis had climbed out of the vehicles and were now seated on the centre median. Medics assessed the patients and found that thirty-one children, believed to be aged between 3 and 11, and both taxi drivers had sustained minor to moderate injuries.”
Meiring says the patients were transported to Potchefstroom Provincial Hospital for further care and that local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
