3.8 Magnitude Earthquake Rattles Parts of the North West Province
The Council for Geoscience (CGS) has confirmed that a 3.8 magnitude earthquake has struck parts of the North West province.
The CGS said the quake occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning.
“The earthquake registered 3.8 on the local magnitude scale as recorded by the South African Seismograph Network (SANSN). The epicentre was located in the Klerksdorp-Orkney-Stilfontein-Hartebeestfontein(KOSH)region.”
CGS has encouraged the public to record their experiences using the available online questionnaire
which can be accessed on their website.
Last month a 3.5 magnitude earthquake rattled parts of Johannesburg.
