11 Injured After Car Crashes into Taxi in Zuurfontein

Eleven people have been injured after a car crashed into the side of a taxi at the Ossewa and Zuurfontein Intersection in Chloorkop in the Vaal Triangle. 

Paramedics say they arrived on scene on Tuesday to find the taxi and car in the middle of the road. 

ER24’s Russel Meiring says a woman in her 20s was found trapped inside the taxi while ten others were walking around the scene.

“Medics assessed the patients and found that the entrapped woman was in a serious condition while ten others had sustained minor to moderate injuries. The Provincial Fire Services had to use specialised rescue equipment to free the woman from the vehicle. Once treated, the patients were transported to Tembisa Provincial Hospital for further care.” 

Meiring says authorities were on scene for further investigations.
